Glitter Wait
On the wall, six illuminated prints are hung at an angle that asks the viewer to look up at them from underneath, evoking religious imagery. Right in front of them, three structures, each holding a water mattress and a screen, reenact a cryogenic lab. To underline the complementarity between faith and science, the screens reference Jorge Luis Borges's concept of self-referentiality, showing another sculpture, "Feeding Porcelain for a More Sonic Archaeology,” (2023) being activated by an actor playing a scientist. Questioning the production of truth and counter-truth, this room installation projects a recurring scenario of hostile imaginary, reflecting on an aesthetics of industrialized belief systems.
