Luzia Cruz (b. 1997, Lisbon) is a visual artist based in Hamburg and Berlin. Her work focusses on the fragility of social mechanisms that regulate technological development, in tension with the extraction of natural resources. Plastically, Luzia explores this tension in ways of accelerating degradation processes on various materials. She is pursuing an MA in fine arts at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg and holds a scholarship from Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Luzia is co-founder and co-director of EGEU Cultural Association, since 2019.
