Feeding Porcelain for a More Sonic Archaeology
A porcelain column in buried in soil and saturated with fertiliser. It becomes a record of artificial ageing—its surface etched with traces of a false temporality. In over-fertilised soil, fertility rapidly declines, and the same chemicals that once nourished begin to corrode. This process mirrors the mechanisation of bodies and the unsynchronised overproduction of goods, where demand outpaces resources. Surrounding white metal structures house the machinery, fertiliser, and water tanks that sustain this artificial cycle. This installation explores the tension between preservation, decay, and artificial intervention in natural processes.
